Adults: 200 mg BID (PO) x 10/7. Pediatrics: 6 Months -< 18 yrs weighing 4 to < 7 kg: 80mg BD, 7 to < 9 kg:120mg BD, 9 to < 12.5 kg: 160mg BD, at least 12.5 kg: 200mg BD.

Mode of Action
It inhibits the bacterial RNA synthase, thereby disrupting bacterial transcription.
Avoid using in systemic infections as it has minimal systemic absorption.
Allergy to Fidaxomicin or any component of the formulation
Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, pyrexia, diarrhea, and sometimes constipation, abdominal pain, GIT hemorrhage, and anemia
When compared with vancomycin [which is bacteriostatic], it has a narrower antimicrobial spectrum and prolonged postantibiotic effect.
