Mode of Action
It is an enzyme which catalyses the break down of asparagines and which can inhibit the growth of malignant cells which are unable to synthesize asparagines.
Anaphylaxis; hepatic disorder; alteration in blood lipids, cholesterol; hypoalbu-minaemia; hyperammonaemia, renal failure, pancreatitis; hyperglycaemia; GI disturbances; CNS disturbances; bone marrow depression though rare.
