Ticarcillin / Clavulanate
Bacterial septicaemia, RTI, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, infections of female pelvis and GU, complicated UTI, severe infections due to pseudomonas, proteus and E.coli.
Expressed as a combination of ticarcillin (as sodium salt) and clauvulanic acid (as potassium salt) in a ratio of 15:1. By I.V infusion, 3.2g every 6 - 8 hours increased to every 4 hours in more severe infections; child 1 months - 18 years, body-weight under 40kg, 80 mg/kg every 8 hours, increased to every 6 hours in more severe infections; body weight over 40 kg, adult dose.
