Allergies and pruritis: Adult; 4mg TID [max. 32mg daily], 7-14 years; 4mg BD or TID [max. 8mg in 4-6 hours period]. Appetite stimu- lant: Oral, 4mg TID with meals. Promotion of weight gain: treatment period should not exceed six months. Vascular headache suppressant: Oral, 4 mg at the start of the attack, repeated after thirty minutes if necessary. Maintenance: Oral, 4 mg every four to six hours

Newborn or premature infants; nursing mothers; hypersensitivity to cyproheptadine and other drugs of similar chemical structure; monoamine oxidase inhibitor therapy; angle-closure glaucoma; stenosing peptic ulcer; symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy; bladder neck obstruction; pyloroduodenal obstruction; elderly, debilitated patients.
