Prostatic cancer [advanced] and suppres- sion of GnRH analogue–related initial tumour flare: 100mg BD or TID. Hot flushes related to orchidectomy or GnRH therapy: 100mg OD [reduced to 50mg OD or on the alternate days. Male hypersexuality: 50mg BD.

Cyproterone is a synthetic progestogen, which is an androgen inhibitor that also suppresses gonadotrophin secretion.
Do not apply in prostate cancer, severe diabetes (with vascular changes), sickle-cell anaemia, liver-disease including Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndromes, previous or existing liver tumours, malignant or wasting diseases, meningioma or history of meningioma, severe depression, history of thromboembolic disorders; youths under 18 years (may arrest bone maturation and testicular development).
Fatigue; thrombosis [coronary and venous] hypertension; depression; change in libido and fertility; diarrhea; allergic reactions; altered cognitive functions; reduced adrenal functions; oedema; altered carbohydrate metabolism.
