Mode of Action
It is a semi-synthetic derivative of podophyllotoxin. It is a topoisomerase II inhibitor that may act at the premitotic stage of cell division to inhibit DNA synthesis.
Only physicians experienced in cancer chemotherapy should use it; increased incidence of infections; severe myelosuppression with resulting infection or bleeding may occur.
Hypersensitivity to it or any component of its formulation
Myelosuppression; alopecia; nausea and vomiting; transient hypotension after rapid IV infusion; allergic reactions; pigmentation; abdominal pain; constipation; seizure; dysphagia, fever, interstitial pneumonitis; pulmonary fibrosis; optic neuritis.
