Arthritis and post-operative pain: 20mg OD [40mg may be given for the first 2 days]. Dysmenorrhoea: 40mg daily for 2 days then 20mg daily 1-3 days. Gout: 40mg stat, then 40mg daily for 4-6 days. Acute musculo-skeletal disor- ders: 40mg daily for 2 days then 20mg OD for 7- 14 days. Juvenile arthritis: Daily as a single dose, 15kg-5mg/kg, 16-25kg -10mg/kg, 26-45kg– 15mg/kg, over 46kg- 20mg/kg.

Inhibitors of cyclo-oxygenase [COX-1 and COX-2] enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to PGH2. Indications: Inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism, pain following dental surgery, dysmenorrhea, gout, painful muscular and skeletal conditions.
Renal/hepatic impairment, coumarin anticoagulants, GI disturbances history.
Pregnancy and lactation, active peptic ulceration, porphyria, hepatic impairment. Safety in children has not been established, patient sensitive to NSAIDs.
GI disturbances, tinnitus, hearing impairment, allergic reactions, visual disturbances, alopecia, onycholysis, pancreatitis, blood dyscrasia, epistaxis, and photosensitivity.
Drug interactions: Aspirin reduces its plasma level.
