Monitoring potassium depletion and chloride loss
Hypertension; CHF; convulsions; metabolic and respiratory alkalosis; hypocalcaemia in which alkalosis may produce tetany; losing chloride by vomiting or by continous GI suction; receiving diuretic that cause hypochloremic alkalosis.
Alkalosis; hypernatremia; local pain and venous irritation in case of extravasations.
Drug interactions: Sympathomimetics; lithium; methotrexate
